Moravian Piano Trio The Moravian Piano Trio was founded in 1997 in the Czech Republic in Brno - the city of Leoš Janáček. It has been prforming in the same lineup since 1999: Jana Ryšánková - piano, Jiří Jahoda - violin and Miroslav Zicha - cello. Over the years, the ensemble has performed hundreds of concerts on significant stages both at home and abroad. The Moravian Piano Trio ranks among the ensembles with the most extensive repertoires in Europe with their repertoire of more than 25 full-length recitals of classical trio literature. Additionally, dozens of often virtuosic transcriptions of well-known symphonic and operatic works have been created specifically for the trio.
A significant part of the ensemble’s activities also includes collaboration with singers of all vocal categories. Thanks to its exceptional breadth of opera and song repertoire (over 250 works in its own arrangements), the Moravian Piano Trio is also a popular partner for internationally renowned opera singers (Eva Urbanová, Gabriela Beňačková, Andrea Kalivodová, Kateřina Kněžíková, Dagmar Pecková, Štefan Margita, Miki Isochi), who seek out the trio for their concerts as a counterbalance to their artistic performances on world opera stages (MET, Tokyo, La Scala, etc.).
The ensemble consists of mature artistic personalities and academics from the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts, which has led to their characteristic musical expression – perfect ensemble playing and an unmistakable expressive style, highly praised not only by critics but also enthusiastically received by a broad audience. This is evidenced by repeated invitations to perform on prominent concert stages.
